Creating Responsible Jewelry
Evershiny Jewelry has always been an environmentally conscious company and is committed to sustainable practices. We are all looking for ways, big and small, to help be part of the solution to climate change. The younger generation consumers (millennials) are choosing sustainability over iconic brands. Brands are now also looking for sustainability, transparency and ethical manufacturing in the factories they work or partner with. Thus, Evershiny is exciting to be part of this journey and are therefore is in the process of fully integrating the required standards for a "green" manufacturing facility in order to create "responsible jewellery".
We believe that it is possible to make great products at a reasonable price with 100% sustainability.
In order to match the rising global standards for sustainable manufacturing processes, below are a few small changes that we are currently doing to make a difference to our environment.
All metals used by Evershiny are conflict-free. We are committed to the ethical sourcing and work exclusively with suppliers who guarantee ethical sources of our materials including chains, findings, and gemstones.
We currently have an option for our customers to opt for using only certified recycled silver in their jewelry pieces. Our silver refiner supplier is listed on the LBMA's (London Bullion Market Association) Good Delivery List and is also a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). Due to all recycled sources will have to pass through a scrap refining process, please note that there will be a 5% extra charge on top of the market's silver price for using this option.
We try to limit the use of polybags as much as possible and are currently sourcing for eco-friendly poly bags made from recycled materials (or plastic that can be recycled) to pack all our jewelry.
All the crystals we use are from Swarovski, who are at the forefront of sustainability. All Swarovski crystals are lead-free, and are responsibly produced through various social and environmental programs. We also try to use faux pearls where possible.
Evershiny currently meets the European Union’s REACH (Restriction, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) regulations, which aims to restrict hazardous substances such as nickel, lead and cadmium in all parts of jewellery that could reasonably be accessed by the end consumers, and ultimately reduce the amount of harmful chemicals in the environment.
Evershiny is a certified member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), which is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories in their global supply chains. The latest exhaustive full audit was conducted on May 17th, 2019 by Intertek, and covers the following 13 Performance Area (PA). We are very proud to announce that we have received a Score A for at least 11 of the PA listed below.
